SANY America Adds Telematics To Their Heavy Equipment With The Help Of AT&T
SANY America has announced plans to offer telematics service for their heavy equipment sold in North America, thanks to a new partnership with AT&T. Excavators will be the first machines in SANY’s line of products to receive the new services, but company says they plan to extend that capability to other products soon.
Andy Clevenger, VP of SANY America, says the close collaboration with AT&T means SANY America can give dealers and customers an industry-leading tool that will provide a more integrated and closer customer experience with SANY America and its products and services.
The addition of telematics will boost productivity in several ways.
AT&T telematics for commercial equipment enable remote tracking, management and troubleshooting for fleets of any size:
- You can see the location of every piece of equipment in real time and also view a history of where it has been working.
- You can pull detailed reports that show how equipment is being used, to make the most of equipment and detect any needed operating improvements.
Using the geo-fencing feature, you can set travel parameters for each machine and receive an alert any time the equipment moves outside that defined area. This helps protect against theft as well as inadvertent movement into unauthorized areas.- You also receive real-time diagnostic and condition alerts. This helps keep planned maintenance on schedule, and the ability to detect impending problems early enables you to save money and reduce downtime by responding quickly, before problems can escalate.
“For commercial equipment owners, knowing the exact location and condition of machinery is critical,” notes Mike Troiano, vice president, Industrial Internet of Things at AT&T Mobility. Historically, he says, commercial equipment OEMs have had to pay dearly for effective resource management solutions. In contrast, AT&T’s telematics services are a turnkey solution that is easy to use, cost-effective and can be implemented quickly.
